Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
In short: Knubbi doesn’t collect any data about you. There is no account, no advertising, no tracking and no analytics. Everything you enter stays on your device – or in your own iCloud or Google storage, which I can’t access.
Who is responsible
Simon Raass
Innsbruck, Austria
Email: knubbi.app@gmail.com
What the app processes
The app only stores what you enter yourself or what comes from using it:
- your habits (name, plant, color, rhythm, reminder time),
- the days on which you completed them,
- vacations and rain days,
- your greenhouse progress, your decorations and your settings.
This data is stored only on your device. It is not sent to me or to any third party. I don’t run any servers for the app.
iCloud (iPhone and iPad)
If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, Knubbi keeps your garden in sync across your own devices. To do that, the data listed above is stored in your private iCloud storage. That storage belongs to your Apple Account and is operated by Apple; I can’t see this data. You can turn syncing off for Knubbi in the iOS settings under “iCloud”. Apple’s processing is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
Device backup (Android)
The Android app has no internet permission and can’t send data anywhere by itself. If you have Android’s device backup turned on, the operating system backs up your garden to your Google Account so it comes back on a new device. You control this in the Android settings; Google’s privacy policy applies.
Backup file
With “Back Up Garden” you can save your garden to a file. Where that file lives and who you give it to is entirely up to you.
Reminders
Reminders are scheduled and shown on your device. The app asks for permission to send notifications for this. No notifications are sent through a server.
Sharing your garden
When you share a picture of your garden, the app creates the image on your device and hands it to the app you choose. The picture shows how many habits you have and how often you completed them, but not the names of your habits.
What the app doesn’t do
- no advertising and no advertising identifiers,
- no tracking, no third-party analytics or crash reporting,
- no access to your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone,
- no account and no sign-in.
App Store, TestFlight and Google Play
When you download the app or take part in a pre-release test, Apple or Google process data under their own terms (for example your Apple Account or Google Account). I have no influence over that. If you have agreed to share diagnostics with developers, I receive anonymous crash reports and statistics from Apple or Google that can’t be linked to you. Feedback you send through TestFlight reaches me together with your email address if you provided it there.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no local storage, no analytics and no embedded third-party content. No fonts are loaded; the images are served by this site itself. It is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). When you open it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address in order to deliver the page and protect it from attacks; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Transfers to third countries
Cloudflare, Apple and Google may process data in the United States. These companies are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
External links
This site links to other sites, for example Instagram. Data is only transferred to the respective provider once you click such a link; that provider’s privacy terms then apply.
Contact by email
If you write to me, I use your email address and your message only to reply, and delete them once your request is settled (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long data is kept
The app’s data stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app. I don’t store any data from the app myself.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Because I never receive data from the app, you can delete all of it yourself: with “Delete Garden” in the settings, or by removing the app (and, where applicable, its data in iCloud or in your Google backup). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and doesn’t collect data from children either.
Changes
If something about the app changes that affects privacy, I will update this policy. The version on this page applies.
